Job description
A national policyholder-side insurance coverage law firm is hiring a Senior Insurance Coverage Attorney to run high-value coverage disputes from start to finish. This is a policyholder-side practice, representing companies pursuing recovery from their insurers, not insurance-defense work.
You will own coverage matters soup to nuts, carry a heavy motion practice, and bring strong, persuasive legal writing. The role is on a partnership track.
What you'll do
- Manage high-value insurance coverage disputes end to end, in litigation and pre-litigation
- Draft and argue dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment
- Advise policyholders on coverage under complex commercial policies
- Produce sharp, persuasive legal writing across briefs, memos, and demands
- Work directly with clients and firm leadership on case strategy
Compensation and schedule
- $175,000 to $250,000 base, up to $300,000 for exceptional candidates
- Discretionary bonus up to 25%
- 1,800 billable-hour target
- Partnership track
Location
Primary office in Temecula, California (five days in office). Naples, Florida is also available. Remote considered for truly exceptional candidates.
Requirements
- Active California or Florida bar admission (required)
- 6 to 15 years of experience, with at least 6 years in insurance coverage or complex commercial litigation
- Policyholder-side coverage experience strongly preferred
- A track record owning high-value coverage disputes and a heavy motion practice, including MSJs
- Excellent legal writing
- Construction-defect or hospitality coverage experience is a plus
- Note: primarily insurance-defense backgrounds are not a fit for this role
