About the role
A leading global law firm is hiring a Private Equity / M&A associate for its New York office. You'll represent private equity sponsors and funds across the full investment lifecycle, from acquisitions and dispositions to fund formation and portfolio-company work, supported by strong, steady deal flow. This is a hybrid role.
What you'll do
- Represent private equity sponsors and funds on acquisitions and dispositions
- Handle fund formation and ongoing portfolio-company matters
- Work across the full investment lifecycle on a busy, sophisticated deal pipeline
- Take on real responsibility alongside a collaborative corporate team
Compensation & benefits
- Base salary $260,000–$420,000 per year (Cravath scale, roughly 3rd to 7th-year base), depending on class year and job-related factors
Requirements
What you'll bring
- 3 to 7 years of private equity or M&A transactional experience (JD 2019 to 2023)
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and deal-management skills
- Sound judgment and the ability to manage sophisticated transactions
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Admission to, and good standing with, the New York Bar
