Job description

About the role

Our client, a full-service California law firm with an extensive real estate practice, is seeking a Real Estate Associate to join its team firmwide. You'll handle sophisticated commercial real estate transactions across the full range of transactional matters for a broad client base — public entities, corporate clients, private developers, property owners, and nonprofits.

About the firm

An established, full-service firm whose real estate practice covers acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and public-private partnership work for emerging and established clients. It's a collaborative, team-oriented environment with a reasonable billable-hours requirement.

What you'll do

  • Handle sophisticated commercial real estate transactions — acquisitions, dispositions, purchase and sale agreements, leasing, title, and financing matters
  • Draft and negotiate PSAs, commercial leases, statutory development agreements, disposition and development agreements, reimbursement agreements, and other complex real estate documents
  • Advise public agencies, private developers, corporate clients, property owners, and nonprofits, including on public-private partnership deals
  • Independently manage multiple transactions in a team-oriented environment

Compensation & benefits

  • Base salary $190,000–$225,000 (depending on years of practice and experience), plus annual performance-based bonuses
  • Discretionary and billable-hours bonuses
  • Health insurance and 401(k) with a partial match
  • Hybrid work arrangement with a reasonable billable-hours requirement

Requirements

What you'll bring

  • 6+ years of relevant commercial real estate transactional experience
  • A track record drafting and negotiating PSAs, commercial leases, development and disposition agreements, and other complex real estate documents
  • Experience advising public agencies, private developers, corporate clients, property owners, and nonprofits
  • Ability to independently manage multiple transactions in a team-oriented environment
  • Admission to the State Bar of California
